Due to the increase in number of mixed breeds we have been receiving it has been making our pricing structure difficult. Since there is no “breed standard” for these mixes such as coat type and weight, we are finding out that pricing by the breed is no longer showing to be consistent. Even with purebreds we have some 50lb Goldens and some 80lbs. Yorkies that are 5lbs and others 20lbs.
We have decided in order to make things more consistent we will be switching to solely pricing by weight as of April 1, 2024. All new clients accepted will already be at this pricing. We will be adding a scale to our facility to ensure a current weight on every pet. Weight brackets will be in 10lb increments up to 80lbs. Over 80lbs goes to straight hourly because it requires 2 people.
What does this means for you? The majority our clients will either stay where they are or see a slight increase. There are a few that have not been updated as their dogs grew or were missed last time prices were raised, so unfortunately you will see a larger increase. For haircuts there will be two brackets. An all over cut “one length all over “, and styled. Styled is basically anything but one length all over such as a breed cut, or longer trims with scissored legs. All of these prices are base prices based on a dog on a routine schedule of 8 weeks or less. Dogs that have an excessive amount or unmaintained coat are subject to additional charges.
